Buying Mens Jewelry – Do’s & Dont’s

mens ring

Mens Ring "To Do"

Jewelry isn't just for women! There are a number of pieces of jewelry that can accent men's fashion perfectly. However, there are also some male jewelry ideas that were better left in the nineteen seventies when they were created! Here are five "no-no's" about men's jewelry that the man in your life (or you, if you are a man) should always avoid!

Men's Ankle Bracelets
Rope-braided, plastic or otherwise. It does not matter what your ankle bracelet is made of, there is no acceptable time for a fashionable man to wear an ankle bracelet! Put them away in a box!

Mens Medallion Chains

Made famous by John Travolta's hairy chest in the "Saturday Night Fever" movies, this large gold necklace with a medallion on the end is, for some reason, still worn by men today. In fact, this look doesn't do much for the average man (hair chest or otherwise) but to make people wonder if that man is still taking his fashion advice from a Travolta movie. It's time to put the gold chains away in a memory box.

Mens Pinky Rings

Unless you, personally, are a member of the mob, all that a pinky ring says is, 'I wish that I were a member of the mob." The only time that it is acceptable to wear one is if it was given to you as a gift and the gift-giver is present. Or if you're really in the mob!

Mens Earrings

We will concede that there was at time in the eighties when earrings, either in both ears or just one ear, were highly fashionable and desirable on a man. However, we are now well into the twenty-first century. Earrings on men have gone out of fashion, and don't look to be coming back into fashion any time soon. Take your earrings out, it's time to stop looking like you just stepped out of "The Breakfast Club."

Mens Rope-Braided Bracelets

There are only two times that a rope-braided bracelet is appropriate. The first is when you are a ten year old girl, and the second is when you are taking a vacation to the Bahamas. If neither of these describes you, then you should not be wearing a rope-braided bracelet. Unless it was made for you by a ten-year-old-girl. Then we will let you wear it!
There you go! Five men's jewelry don'ts. Now, be good and really don't do them!
