We all have one. Or two. Or many. I’m probably the latter. And let me tell you- to find someone who loves your through your flaws- that is an awesome feeling. The fact that I wake up in the morning, still this chubby, tired, average guy and there’s someone in my life that accepts me, puts up with me, and loves me for who I am is what gets me through the day.
Just thought you all should know.
Peace&love,
sjm
My name is Steven James Meyers. I was born October 10, 1987. In my 22 years on this earth, I have seen alot.
I’ve lived through six conflicts- end of the Cold War, Gulf War, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Gaza.
I’ve survived threats of the Avian flu, Swine flu, Mad Cow disease, West Nile Virus, SARS and Anthrax.
I’ve seen threats from North Korea, and Al Qaeda.
I’ve witnessed bombings, assassinations, and watched the live, pointless murder of thousands of innocent American citizens by a militant with a book.
I’ve lived through four Presidents, and witnessed an entire nation deviate from its 200+ years of tradition by electing a mixed-race man to be their President.
I’ve watched human rights be thrown out the door, and people who do absolutely nothing take home million-dollar salaries while the men and women who fight for our rights struggle to stay above poverty.
I’ve witnessed climate change and waited as the majority of the world’s population did not a thing to quell the change.
I’ve seen the horrible things that man is capable of, and I pray that my children will not have to say that they’ve lived through the same. And if you think that because I was not directly involved in some of these things that I did not live through them- you are completely wrong. These things affect us all.
Through the bad, however, I’ve seen some amazing things. I’ve lived through a millennium change, and with it I’ve witnessed a technological revolution, and a change in the social standard that directly effects the way the modern world is run.
There is a lot of negativity in the world, but there is also good- and only when we realize that fact will we truly be able to coexist with one another. Just because it is written, does not make it so.
Peace & Love,
Steve

Unfortunately, it seems that someone contributing to the zooeydeschanel tumblr has discovered us and chosen NOT to reblog images that we’ve posted or reblogged, but instead post them as their own. This is related to the reason we started watermarking images. We have noticed images from our personal tumblrs and from this tumblr not being credited, which is poor etiquette, and defeats much of the purpose of tumblr in our view. These are not only our images that are not properly credited, but many of yours too! We hope you will continue to follow us because we’re still committed to posting, and as always, we welcome your submissions!
There’s a lot of this going around at the moment. Most of the ones I notice of mine I try to contact the person directly (formspring, email, etc.) but some still refuse to reblog/credit properly. Example: thechocolatebrigade vs. my original - I’ve asked several times that it at least be credited properly (i.e. not to some shitty xanga that stole it from me) if she won’t reblog. Personally, I’ve never had a problem with zooeydeschanel, they’ve always reblogged and credited me properly, but it’s sad if they’re starting to do it too because they have so many followers. I’ve been considering watermarking from now on too. Tried it a couple of times, haven’t decided. Might become a necessity, which is kind of sad really.
As one of the admins of zooeydeschanel, I can only say that mine and my co-admins posts are properly credited when credit is available/due. Reblogging may not be possible, but we will credit the original image holder when we can. As for our contributors, if you take issue with one of our submissions, please, let me, or samsantos know immediately, via tumblr contact information. When dealing with credit, though, its hard to say who truly deserves credit for some images. For instance, if I do a Google search of Zooey Deschanel, I can point out the same image being posted on numerous blogs/sites/feeds. In that instance, its hard to say who deserves credit, because one can ask, where did you find the image? We’re trying to keep an honest community here, so I take no issue with any legitimate complaints you have. If you do have a complaint to register, please send me and/or samsantos an e-mail with the URL to the image on zd, the URL with a dated original image on your site, and credit to where you found said image, unless it is your personal property. I’ve got a couple of things in the works to help against people saving images and not crediting them when posted, but don’t forget- you can’t just watermark images that don’t belong to you. Unless you took them personally, technically they are still the property of the photographer, and Zooey herself. Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
stevejmeyers
Oh, yeah, I definitely see your point there - we never really own anything here at all. I just think that it’s unfortunate when the reblogging/community aspect of tumblr is lost. I suppose when I said credit, I didn’t mean credit for the actual image, but credit as in, where it’s been cited on tumblr and posted from. Many images, of events, appearances, film stills and so forth are absolutely not our property at all, we just enjoy sharing them. I think in the case of say, the one I linked above (which is not related to your tumblr at all), it’s obvious there has been a significant amount of editing, cropping, colouring, etc., which is unlikely to be replicated by someone exactly, so there it seems only fair that (at the very least) a link back to the original tumblr is provided. One that you may be able to remedy, Steve, is this post, which is obviously an image that, while not owned by, should be credited to heartwarming because she put in work editing, cleaning, and colouring that image, and yet it’s been posted without credit, without even a courtesy click-through link, if you can’t manage a proper reblog. I think these are the images people take issue with, though I certainly can’t speak for everyone.
And this post, while it may come off that way, is certainly not directed at you guys at zooeydeschanel alone, I’ve just noticed an increase in the number of times this is happening on tumblr in general.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention, and I’ll be sure to let our contributors know how to at least credit their source (if they have one), if they’re unable to do a proper reblog. I definitely understand what you mean, about the community. :) Thank you!
DIAF of the Day: Hatebot Megan Phelps-Roper displays a protest sign she made for the WBC’s anti-Gaga protest scheduled for next Thursday.
Let me be very clear: I’d sooner spend eternity in Hell than a split-second in a Gaga-less Heaven.

Agree, and the WBC piss me off. Nobody ruins the freedom of speech like these cultist mother fuckers.

I raged. So not right. One of my closest friends, who we’ll call Mia, got screwed out of her promotion AND the entire job by jealous people who plotted against her! And the sad part is, the one girl that had alot to do with it, was supposedly a close friend and had gone through a seriously horrible event, through which Mia had supported her and helped her to every extent possible.
People are horrible, but remember this: Karma is very real, whether you believe it is or not. And it’ll come back around.
Off to a birthday party for my niece. She’s gettin’ so big! :(
Hope everyone had a good Christmas, and will have an even better 2010.
Peace & Love!
do want to fuck? plz :)
uhhhh…… pretend i don’t understand what that means, k? too young for that, haha.
Best. Q/A. Ever.
There you have it! :) I hope you’re all having a good break from school- I know I am! I’m slowly getting into the Christmas spirit; this year just doesn’t feel like it should. If I don’t blog before, have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Merry Yule, or just a great holiday season in general!
Peace & Love!
